We are currently seeking a Director of Procurement to join our Finance team in New York.

Operating in our fast-paced, high-growth advertising technology environment, this individual will establish, scale, and lead the procurement function. Partnering closely with business leaders across Cadent, you will lead the strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and management of our third-party spend. This role is critical to driving financial efficiency and operational scale. You will own vendor relationships across key categories—including major SaaS systems, cloud infrastructure, adtech platforms, and third-party data/measurement partners—ensuring strong commercial terms, compliance, and optimized cross-functional workflows.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Procurement Leadership: Build, formalize, and own the end-to-end strategic sourcing and purchasing process for indirect goods, technology, and specialized adtech services (from intake and RFP execution to final contract signature).
  • Adtech & IT Vendor Sourcing: Manage and optimize spend across technology-heavy categories, including cloud infrastructure, SaaS applications, data providers (identity, audience, measurement), and inventory platform agreements.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations on pricing, commercial structures and legal terms to reduce risk and deliver measurable cost savings.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a key bridge between Finance, Legal, and department heads to align vendor onboarding with company budgets, privacy requirements, and strategic goals.
  • Spend Governance & Workflows: Establish and maintain purchasing policies, approval matrices, and preferred-vendor programs suitable for a growing, compliant enterprise.
  • Performance & Metrics: Develop reporting frameworks to track overall spend, cost avoidance, realized savings, and vendor performance for executive leadership.
  • Financial Integration: Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounting, and FP&A to streamline purchase order (PO) workflows, invoice reconciliation, and month-end accruals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management experience.
  • Experience standing up a procurement function or formalizing purchasing processes in a high-growth company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating contracts and delivering cost savings.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to gain trust and partner effectively with both highly technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience standing up a procurement function or formalizing purchasing processes in a high-growth company.
  • Familiarity with ad tech, media, or SaaS/technology vendor contracts.
  • Hands-on experience with procurement or ERP platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, NetSuite).
  • CPSM, CPSD, or similar professional certification.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
