We’re recruiting a Compensation Manager to join our People team in New York, NY. This role will report to the SVP, People – Talent and Operations and play a key role in building and managing scalable compensation programs. The Compensation Manager will own high-impact projects such as job architecture and the year-end merit and bonus cycle, while ensuring our pay practices are competitive, fair, and aligned with Cadent’s business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and practices.
  • Own and deliver immediate projects, including:
    • Job Architecture: Build and implement job families, leveling frameworks, and role definitions.
    • Year-End Compensation Cycle: Manage the process end-to-end, including planning, execution, communications, and tool
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to advise on compensation decisions, promotions, and job evaluations.
  • Conduct market benchmarking to ensure competitiveness, pay equity, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Use compensation planning platforms (e.g., Pave) and HRIS systems (ADP) to manage processes effectively.
  • Provide reporting and insights on compensation trends, spend, and compliance to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field; CCP certification a plus.
  • 5–8 years of progressive compensation experience, including ownership of the full year-end compensation cycle.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking tools and survey data.
  • Proficiency with compensation planning tools (e.g., Pave) and HRIS systems, ideally ADP.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to simplify complex concepts.
  • Nice to have: Experience supporting compensation programs during mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
  • Thrives in a lean team environment where adaptability, collaboration, and initiative are critical.
  • Comfortable navigating the gray: Excels in less structured environments by creating clarity, building process, and driving outcomes.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, with the ability to both strategize and execute.

The posted compensation range reflects a base salary that may vary based on a candidate’s experience and location; those with more relevant experience or residing in higher-cost markets may be eligible for compensation at the upper end of the range.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
